Local favorites Kari Simmons and Todd Lowry, known for their smooth, energetic performances of jazz standards, have released a wonderfully eclectic Christmas CD. This distinctive collection includes secular standards (like "White Christmas" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"), frolickingly fun contemporary tunes ("Jingle Bell Rock," "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"), and spiritual standouts ("O Come, O Come Emmanuel," "O Holy Night"), as well as two original songs ("Christmas in New Mexico" and "Snow Fell Christmas Eve"). For fun, they've included "My Favorite Things"--not a Christmas song by any means, but delightfully appropriate. Simmons' silky voice and Lowry's elegant pinao stylings make this a keeper for years to come.
