David Steinberg reviewed "Christmas in New Mexico" in the Dec. 2, 2001 issue of the Albuquerque Journal. He gave the CD 3 1/2 stars. Here is what he said:

It seems like only yesterday--actually it was a few months ago--that the Albuquerque duo of singer Kari Simmons and pianist Todd Lowry released their fine debut album, "The Road of Dreams."
They haven't wasted any time in getting our their second recording, "Christmnas in New Mexico."
If you missed the first one, or if you haven't heard Simmons and Lowry at the Martini Grille or Vanessie of Santa Fe, their new CD is just the ticket.
It contains an adobe full of popular ballads and novelty songs that have become holiday standards. My personal favorites are related to the excitement that Simmons' voice--it will give you goose bumps--brings to the music.
Which ones? "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire"), "My Favorite Things," "White Christmas" and the catchy title cut, which Lowry wrote.
Simmons and Lowry show that the simple presentation of vocals and piano can get the job done.
